Stroud District Local Plan Review: Additional housing options consultation

The council are undertaking a consultation until the 16th December on additional housing options and sites. The Stroud District Local Plan was adopted in November 2015 and covers the period to 2031. The council are committed to undertaking an early review of the local plan.

As part of this early review the council consulted on an Emerging Strategy in 2018 and the Draft Local Plan in late 2019. In August 2020, the Government published a consultation document which proposed changes to the way the Government calculates the minimum housing requirement for each local authority area in the country. This revised standard method has proposed increasing the housing requirement for Stroud District. If Government confirms that this new requirement is to be used, then the council may need to identify further land within the Stroud District for housing.

Full details can be found in a consultation paper ‘Stroud District Local Plan Review. Draft Plan – Additional housing options’ that can be viewed at www.stroud.gov.uk/localplanreview

Clients are advised to contact us as soon as possible if you would like us to submit your land for consideration by the council.
