Replacement Dwelling in Hadley Wood, Enfield

Planning permission granted for a replacement Dwelling in Hadley Wood, Enfield.

This substantial replacement dwelling involved detailed work by our team, working alongside PAPA architects, as well as a network of other specialist consultants.

The site is opposite the boundary to the green belt and an Area of Special Character with the existing building being of no particular architectural or visual merit, and making no positive contribution to either the character of the site or its surroundings. The approved replacement dwelling will have far greater sustainability credentials using a highly efficient building envelope and low carbon heating systems.

In order to justify the demolition and replacement of the existing building our planning consultants developed a strategy that considered multiple elements.

We included a comprehensive set of reports with the planning application including:

  • Energy Strategy assessment
  • Sustainable Drainage Strategy (SuDS) Statement

These collectively evidence the development’s compliance with sustainability and environmental considerations in Enfield’s local plan as well as the London Plan. In addition, a detailed analysis of previous schemes on a similar scale, within the same street demonstrated that the principle of the development was acceptable. The scheme was granted planning at the first time of asking.

As a result, our clients can now begin work. Their new home will benefit from significantly reduced carbon emissions and has been specifically designed around their specific spacial activity and requirements.
