Project
OVERVIEW
SF Planning Ltd worked closely with the scheme architects, Arctech LLP, to submit a planning application for the construction of a new 11 000 sq m purpose-built world class manufacturing building with integral offices and associated car parking. Crane manufactures parts involved in chemical, mining and water treatment but its current site which they have occupied since 1934 is no longer appropriate for modern manufacturing.
The development will bring a disused brownfield and sustainably located site back into beneficial use and will secure the long-term future for manufacturing jobs in Cwmbran. There would be no overriding unacceptable impact on the amenities of surrounding occupiers and the development will not impact adversely upon the character of the site, surrounding area or highway safety considerations. There will be no unacceptable impact on the landscape or the ecological value of the site that cannot be mitigated. This despoiled site which has lain vacant since 2004 will be remediated and Natural Resource Wales’ initial flood risk concerns have been fully addressed.
