SF Planning were delighted to help secure permission via the planning appeal process for a householder application in London.

Our client’s application to the London Borough of Barnet for a first floor rear extension to their family home was refused by planning officers on design grounds and we were approached to assess the merits of appealing this decision. We subsequently undertook a review of the proposal, the relevant local planning policies and the planning officer’s report and provided our thoughts to the client. We were then instructed us to submit an appeal on their behalf.

A comprehensive and robust case was put forward to the Planning Inspector as to why the proposed extensions were of a high quality design that respected the appearance of the host dwelling and the character of the wider area. The Inspector found that there was no conflict with the Development Plan and that the proposal would not be harmful. A great result all round!
