SF Planning assisted with the entire application process from pre-application through to the completion, submission and management of the application.

There was a tight timescale involved but SF Planning engaged with Cheltenham Borough Council staff and other technical consultants to successfully submit an application at the end of October 2015.  This then enabled a unanimous approval at Planning Committee in December 2015.

The application did present its challenges with the play area park being located in a grade II registered park and close to the grade 1 listed Pittville Pump Rooms. SFP worked proactively with various stakeholders to ensure that the proposal was acceptable in heritage terms.

As well as the unanimous support at Planning Committee, planning permission was secured with no pre-commencement conditions which was crucial in enabling works to commence on site in January 2016. The park opened in June 2016 and has been a popular attraction in the park since its opening.

This is a project that we are particularly proud of and it is one that has clearly brought a lot of fun and enjoyment to the town’s residents.
