In Cotswold District Council’s first virtual Planning Committee, SFP have achieved planning permission for a scheme on a redundant tennis court.
The site is previously developed land formally belonging to Wick House in the town of Fairford and therefore, the principle of new housing in this location was considered entirely acceptable and in accordance with local plan and the NPPF.
The proposals will provide two detached single-family dwellings, of high quality construction being built of local materials. We put together a consultant team including RRA Architects, Cotswold Transport Planning and Ambiental. Through monitoring of the application and responding to consultee comments alongside the appointed consultant team, we ensured all technical matters could be resolved ahead of committee and enabled planning officers to recommend approval, which members agreed.
Many Councils have now adopted “virtual” committees responding proactively to the pandemic and helping to keep the decision making process moving. We at SFP have been involved in several and would be happy to share our experiences with Clients. Please get in touch.
